Timely laboratory evidence linked to patient care, reducing delays in diagnosis and treatment decisions.
A central digital exchange and analytics layer for Uganda's laboratory ecosystem — accessible to authorised users worldwide.
For years, Uganda's laboratory landscape operated with fragmented information systems, making it difficult to generate a consolidated national picture. The Laboratory Data Repository (LDR) now provides a centralised platform that brings together laboratory databases — enabling integration, analysis, and governed access through a single national window.
Launched by the Ministry of Health with support from partners including APHL and U.S. CDC, the LDR feeds into the National Health Information System and National Health Data Warehouse.
Timely laboratory evidence linked to patient care, reducing delays in diagnosis and treatment decisions.
Monitor disease patterns, identify gaps, and detect possible misuse or anomalies in diagnostics.
Track indicators at facility, district, regional, and national levels for HIV, TB, and other programmes.
An e-library of laboratory information generating research that informs national health policy.
The LDR is fully online. Authorised health managers and partners can access real-time information wherever they have secure connectivity. Data governance remains under the Ministry of Health with role-based access controls.
