The lab fraternity gathering with the Guest of Honor being the PS, Dr. Atwiine Diana, comprised of stakeholders, implementing partners and lab schools that kicked off with a prayer session by Pastor Ivan Bisaso of Watoto church and later a meeting by the PS, as challenges were discussed.

The occasion began with a prayer session that was led by Pastor Ivan Bisaso of Watoto church Bugolobi who was then joined by the Guest of Honor the PS, Dr. Atwiine Diana. As it is known that the Lab day is a day where laboratory stakeholders and Implementing partners meet to discuss challenges faced, different meetings were held after the speech by the PS that include meetings for APHL consultants , Pathologists, tutors, equipment maintenance, UMLTA, preparatory meeting for the world sickle cell day and IPs/ADPs/DHOs & viral load.There were 14 lab schools visit on this day. The schools included UAHIMS mulago, Mildmay Uganda, Kampala Paramedix institute, IHSU, Lira medical Laboratory, lubaga school of medical lab, Jinja school of medical lab, Kibuli school of medical lab technology, Mayanja memorial hospital lab school, St. Francis school of health science mukono, Nsambya school of medical Lab, Ishaka Adventist school, KIU and Mengo.During the PS' speech, she pledged to ensure that the scheme of services for Laboratory professionals are approved and implemented by next financial year. In response to the request by principals of laboratory training schools that decommisionsed laboratory equipment from health laboratory units be donated to the schools to be used for training, the PS promised the matter to be considered by the management of the MOH after a comprehensive eventry of the equipment in all health facilities. She later requested that we need to have protocols and stick by them and need to go back to the basics for quality.
