Lab SPARS Training

With the Lab SPARS roll out plan, there is an ongoing training for 22 supervisors from nine districts(Kayunga, Kamuli, Dokolo, Apac, Arua, Mbale, Masaka, Lwengo and Kyenjojo) at Hotel Paradise Nile Jinja in collaboration with MSH/UHSC that runs till 28th April 2017.

Lab SPARS Roll Out Plan

·       Proposed implementation of SPARS for lab (20 UHCS districts)

·       Use district lab focal persons and senior lab technicians  in the rollout districts

·       The DLFPs  will  be facilitated to mentor and  supervise  lab  facilities

·       IPs  will  use the same approach  to adopt the SPARS  in their supported districts

·       The DLFPs will be supported by IPs to conduct bi-monthly support visits within the district

 

Objectives of the Lab SPARS Classroom training for supervisors

The expected outcome of this training is to provide you the skills and knowledge necessary to:

•       Carry out regular assessment and mentorship of laboratory staff in laboratory supply chain management:

•       Analyze the performance, diagnose the underlying problems, and provide constructive feedback

•       Creatively develop and implement tailored interventions together with laboratory staff

•       Develop realistic performance improvement plans with health facility workers

•       Develop a team of skilled experts in management of laboratory commodities supervision

•       Provide participants with knowledge and skills in Essential Medicines and Health Supplies Concept, Stock Management, and Rational lab commodities Use

•       Train district laboratory supervisors in communication, preparing reports, listening and giving feedback, and making presentations.

•       Train participants in supervision principles, conducting supervision, reporting findings, and helping each other
