CPHL facilitators supported by Baylor Uganda conducted a training in Jinja for Laboratory persons working in prison facilities and the prison community

Over 40 people participated in this training that was held in Jinja including; (RLFP), Lab focal persons for IPs, and DLFPs for Masaka, Rakai and Moyo.

The Biosafety manual is one of the key documents for a national laboratory system. This document has been lacking in Uganda thus affecting the grading of laboratories in the SLMTA process which requires the manual for meaningful assessment among other uses.

The outbreak in Napak started in May 2013 but was confirmed in November 2013. Currently reported cases stand at 523 with 15 deaths; 10 of them being pregnant mothers.
