IPs and UNHLS top management met at Golden Tulip Canaan Hotel in Kampala yesterday to discuss issues concerning the Hub Sample transport system and came up with resolutions to challenges discussed.

As our 90 90 90 strategy, a task-force was yesterday at Bugolobi market with Councillors of Nakawa division communicating with the clients who were being tested for HIV and Hepatitis B. 338 clients were tested and are aware of their status.

Over 200 clients turned up for HIV and Hepatitis B tests today and the vaccination being done from Butabika hospital at a minimal cost of only 12000/= for Hep B negative patients.

A meeting chaired by Dr. Zziwa was attended by all Implementing partners so as to generate demand for viral load. With our capacity to run 1.5 million tests, the meeting was to share best practices in viral load demand creation and plan for upcoming VL campaign in July/August 2017.

The technical working group from the five countries i.e Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda have gathered to discuss achievements, challenges, lessons learnt and way forward for the laboratories in these countries.

The four day training of focal persons from the different Hubs were so practical since the system is for data capture and report generation. The main aim was for them to interact with the system so as to meet their needs as a group and raise up adjustments that need to be made. The Launch of the system will be immediately after the changes according to the consumer's needs. Thanks to the team of trainers and mentors for ensuring that the system was used by the end users.

Today the whole world celebrated people living with sickle cell disorder. Focusing on our nation and particularly kamuli district where the celebration was held, the Speaker of Parliament RT. Hon Rebecca kadaga took a pose with children suffering from the disease.

The lab fraternity gathering with the Guest of Honor being the PS, Dr. Atwiine Diana, comprised of stakeholders, implementing partners and lab schools that kicked off with a prayer session by Pastor Ivan Bisaso of Watoto church and later a meeting by the PS, as challenges were discussed.
